Energetic consumption optimisation through temperature regulation of a façade photobioreactor
This work falls within the framework of SymbiO2 project, on which objective is to develop optimised microalgae cultivation systems (façade photobioreactors) at the front of the building, by taking benefits from thermal and chemical exchanges with host building.
This master thesis project will focus on thermal exchanges optimisation. The PBR microalgal culture temperature has a significant impact on algal productivity, or without control, significant over-heating can be observed even in winter, hence the need for thermal regulation. Temperature control in solar PBRs at optimal growing rate is economically prohibitive; the issue here will be to propose feasible solutions minimising energy costs.
